Good grief.

It's been well over a year since I've even looked at my writing, and another half year on top of that since I've done anything on RelAbs. Working for the Microsoft Borg, dancing with Djana, the 6 month mark at our new house, and a list of house improvement and construction projects that just won't quit, yada yada yada.

Life is fun.

Well, it's been almost a half a year since I've given any status, and things are hectic as usual.  Djana and I have performed as The Strauss Dancers twice during this period and we've also filmed a demo reel for our dancing - which has consumed nearly all of our personal time until recently. I've also just bought a new townhouse north of the city and we're in the process of fixing up our new place in preparation to moving in on June 13th.

Needless to say, I haven't even thought of writing for a while.

The first pass on the compete chapter one of Wyrm, my new Ranma/Harry Potter fanfic, is now available. Let me know what you think and please excuse the typos - I'm a little rusty and this hasn't gone through the normal Technical Editing cycle yet.

I'm trying to start up my writing again, but the process is *slow*. I have the 'misfortune' of being an Immersion Writer, so it takes me forever to get my mind back into a story once I've left it for any length of time. At the moment, I'm working on a plot bunny that wouldn't leave me alone, so I've got Yet Another Story Start kicking around. New story is titled "Wyrm", and I'll post a link as soon as I finish the first chapter (I'm about half way done). Yes, it's another crossover - but it's actually not a Sailor Moon cross this time.

Work and family have been keeping me entirely too busy and too tired for any creative ventures this last month. Sh!t happens.

A website note - I've taken After The Ball, Frozen Dreams, and The Last Three permanently offline as there is essentially no chance that I will ever continue any of these stories. Please don't email me for copies or status on these stories, and please do not post any copies you may have on any other site.  Thanks!

Hmmm.  Haven't posted any status for a while - mostly because work has been really busy lately.  I've added a short scene to RelAbs03 to help foreshadow the whole Imperial mess currently going on in ch9 through 11, but other than that I haven't had much of any creative time or energy available (work day on Monday was over 14 hours). I'm still trying to get to the end of ch11, but it will probably be a while yet if work is any indication.

The picture of Bendis from Ten of Two is now complete, and a new gallery page has been added to the Ten of Two story page. Lian really outdid herself this time, folks - Bendis is absolutely kawaii.

Well, I've punted most of the scene from RelAbs11 which I've been stuck on to a later chapter. Fortunately, that's where the scene really should have been plotted to in the first place, so I'll simply claim excessive creative rust and leave it at that :). I've added a couple of small transition scenes in its place, and edited another large chuck of chapter 11 - which is now posted. RelAbs11 is now about 75% complete.

Not much writing done these last two weeks, mostly due to work pressures and slower-than-expected rehab from December's knee surgery. I'm currently stuck on a very important scene in RelAbs11 and I'm not going to write past this until I can get it down right. As an alternate, I've worked a little on fleshing out Midori & Kioko's backstory which details the events surrounding how the two girls were adopted into the Yamada clan when they were younger.

I ended the work week with a little writing energy, and since I've been doing a lot of animation modeling I thought I'd give myself a break and write a few scenes that have popped into mind. I've taken portions of chapters 9 and 10 of Relatively Absent temporarily offline for review and revision - mostly to tone down the adult/mature scenes - which will allow me to slow down the pace of the actions surrounding the "consequences" of the Tendo plot thread. I don't know how long it will take me to rewrite these sections but I am actually working on them for a while.

Hooboy! It's been quite a while since I've updated this site, hasn't it?  Well, couple of interesting things to note: first is that I have discovered that I am definitely not a Blogger type of person, so the brief experiment on blogging has been removed from this site.  Next, I'm revamping the looks of this site a little - mainly so that I can get rid of that Intro page and move this status block up to the main site portal. I've also added a couple of indicators in the Project Status bar right above to show what type of projects I'm currently working on. Last, I've sent another character artwork commission to Lian - this time it's for a pic of Bendis from Ten of Two. Couldn't resist trying to get a kitsunemimi picture into the gallery pages somehow. :)

Between some recent changes in my job (good changes, but stressful non the less) and the ongoing period dance project my wife Djana and I are working on, I haven't been able to do anything in either my animation or my writing for the last two+ months. I really want to get back to the animation, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to cut off my creative writing completely. I left Ten of Two with about a third of chapter six completed back in July and I'm starting to remember where I was going with the next few scenes, so I'm just going to work on whatever strikes my fancy when I have a few free moments.  We'll see ...

With the changes in my work schedule and the large dance project my wife and myself are currently in the middle of (see http://straussdancers.com for more information), I can only attempt to work on one single creative project, and my animation is going to be taking priority over my writing for the foreseeable future. Any writing done will definitely be few & far between.

Ugh.  Real Life has been keeping me hopping (mother-in-law almost died last week and other disasters) so chapter one of Ten of Two is delayed until at least this weekend at the very earliest. Under good news, Lian has finished another character sketch for Relatively Absent:  the picture of Harukichi Kurayami is now in the Artwork Image Gallery.

I've removed the links to both Onions and ... The Last Three He Stays, since there isn't enough of either story completed for me to feel comfortable posting and I doubt that I'll be getting to either story anytime in the foreseeable future.

I mentioned in my blog that I had yet another killer fanfic idea. If I get enough of the opening written I'll post it up.

The new style sheets are working out quite well. I've converted all of Relatively Absent to the new format with the exception of the image gallery - which I want to retool anyway. Converting A Mother's Love to the new format took very little time, so the other conversions shouldn't take very long either.

I've also started up a blog just for the heck of it.

The new style sheets and server side includes look like they're going to do what I want for the website's publishing model. Just a warning; I'm making the style sheet changes live, so any page that doesn't have the tartan borders is bound to be screwed up until it gets converted. Just be patient, please.

I've pulled the content of RelAbs chapter 11 offline so I can give it a thorough review before trying to complete it. While the current content does follow the plot and chapter outlines I had written previously, I'm going to review the chapter outline itself before reposting any Work In Progress.

Added a chunk to Relatively Absent chapter 11. I still have three scenes to complete with Ranma & Midori before the chapter is a solid block again, and there's another three scenes that need to be added to the current stopping point before I finish off the events for Monday in the story, but at least I'm starting to make a little progress again :).

Relatively Absent is now up on this site, with the exception of the gallery. I'll be getting to that shortly. In the mean time, Mister Norris has expanded his "Illusions of Honor" side story. It will get posted as soon as I can get the edit pass completed.

I've gone ahead and posted most of the completed work in process for Relatively Absent chapter 11. What is there is not quite half of the final chapter, but I've had enough folks ... um ... request ... that I "post anything" that I can at least show you folks where some of the subplots are headed.

Work on the animation is well into the "training" stage. There's a lot of material to cover before I can even come close to claiming any proficiency at all. Fortunately, it just happens to be fun as well. :)

Important announcement! It's become obvious that - with my work and home/family commitments - I'm only capable of working on one or two projects at a time at most. Since I am now getting serious about turning one of my original story ideas into an actual anime, all of my fanfics besides Relatively Absent are being consigned somewhat permanently to the Dust Bin.

So please don't send me email asking when the next chapter of A Mother's Love / After The Ball / Frozen Dreams / etc is going to come out - the answer for all of them is "not for a long long long while".

In the meantime, I hope to have some sample animation clips coming out somewhere in the next year. Please note that the learning curve is quite steep, so don't expect too much from my initial releases. :)

... and yes, I will continue to work on Relatively Absent.  Just ... slowly. Hopefully I won't attain a publishing status similar to Zen (who we all continue to bug regarding the next chapter of LaWR).
