I’ve stayed away from acquiring “IP Licensed” figures mostly due to cost, as a licensed figure can easy cost 3 to 5 times the amount of a figure without any IP licensing requirements.  This, of course, does not prevent overseas companies from creating “clone look-alike” figures and kits that are close enough to the real things, or simply looks good enough to be a nice figure.  This collection includes characters from video games, movies, and anime.
